SUMMARY:Pack Basket Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Come and join us as we make a traditional pack basket with Kimberly White-Atkins from Talking Turtle Baskets. \nPack baskets are crafted with sturdy\, tightly woven black ash splints that are used by hunters and trappers to bring their harvests home. Women used them to carry the plants and food they harvest. Today\, with the reemergence of natural products gaining traction\, more and more people are using these traditional baskets in their everyday lives for shopping\, gathering\, or simply transporting items from one place to another. \nPlease note that we will have the cabins available for rent if you are coming from out of town. \nCost: $325\nHalf must be paid to hold your spot.\nLocation: Chiefswood Park cabin\nFood will be provided\n10 spots available\nTo register call 519-752-3969\nPayment is required in full at time of reservation. If you don’t show up or cancel your reservation within 24 hours\, you forfeit your payment. \n\n\nPlease note that due to the Six Nations of the Grand River Development corporation covid-19 policies Proof of vaccination will be required for those wishing to take part in indoor events.\nFully vaccinated means that an individual has received at least two doses of COVID-19 Vaccination that has been authorized by Health Canada. Paper\, electronic\, QR code or vaccine passports will be accepted along with Photo ID.\nSNGRDC will not retain\, record\, copy\, modify use or disclose any of the information provide\, it is solely for the purposes of confirming that the visitor is fully vaccinated.
