DESCRIPTION:Tom Longboat story book walk \nStarting March 11th – March 20th take a stroll while you read the children’s book MEET TOM LONGBOAT by Elizabeth Macleod \nAn Onondaga from the Six Nations of the Grand River\, Tom Longboat (1887-1949) was one of the world’s greatest long-distance runners. \nTake a walk through Chiefswood Park while enjoying a book about Six Nations very own Tom Longboat. \nThe starting line will be located at the playground and you can continue to follow the numbers to reach the finish line. \nOnce completed take a photo with the Tom Longboat and post it\, making sure to tag Chiefswood Park!

DESCRIPTION:Do you know how to identify trees in the winter?\n\nTrees are important to Six Nations ceremony and culture. Join OSTTC’s own Kerdo Deer as he walks the Carolinian forest of Chiefswood Park and gives tips on tree identification and poison ivy. Come learn to identify winter time trees of including the Maple Species. This workshop will help with your comfort level and understanding while on the land and working in the bush.\n\nDate: Tuesday March 15th\nTime: 2pm-4pm\nLocation: Chiefswood Park Pavilion\nCost: Free\nNo need to pre-register\, we ask you sign in when you arrive.\n*Please wear proper attire the grounds will be muddy.\n\nKeep an eye out for future dates.
