Maple Syrup Gathering 

March 5th, 2023, visit Chiefswood Park for a Maple Syrup Gathering from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.!
Enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast and learn both traditional and modern methods for gathering and preparing maple syrup. Nestled along the Grand River in the Carolinian Forest, Chiefswood Park is the perfect place to see how generations before us have honed their syrup-making skills; tree identification, tapping, sap collection and more! Enjoy a boiling demonstration, crafts, candy, s’mores, and visit our Indigenous vendors in a sweet, maple marketplace.

Tickets
Each $15 adults, $5 for kids under 10yrs (Early Bird)
$20 adults, $8 for kids under 10yrs
$10 adults ( No breakfast) Kids under 10yrs free
Location:
The pancake breakfast will be served in our new upper pavilion.
Maple tree demonstration/ boiling will start over at the cabins.
Crafts will be at the Park Office
Itinerary
10:00-11:30am: Pancake Breakfast includes 2 pancakes, bacon or sausage, syrup with a drink. (choice of juice, coffee, tea or hot chocolate)
12:00 -2:00 : Join Kayanase Eco-Team as they teach you how to identify Maple Tree, show you both traditional and modern tree tapping methods
12:00-3:00: Boiling demonstration, and maple candy
10:00-3:00: Vendors will be set up
12:00-2:00: Kids crafts/ s’mores
