Chiefswood Park is situated on 20 acres along the Grand River and is adjacent to Chiefswood National Historic Site – birthplace and childhood home of famed Poet, author and performer E. Pauline Johnson. Her father was a hereditary Mohawk Chief of mixed ancestry and her mother was an English immigrant.
Chiefswood Park provides a memorable getaway experience that teaches visitors about authentic Haudenosaunee Culture while letting our guests indulge in simple luxuries. The park is situated on 20 acres along the Grand River (a Canadian Heritage River), which is synonymous with the rich history of the Six Nations and located within one of the last remaining Carolinian forests.
Stay in one of our Luxury Grand Cabins which accommodates 1-8 guests (two of which are wheelchair accessible) or a Small Cabin which accommodates 1-6 guests. Our log cabins are designed to match authentic local culture and history, while providing a rustic, yet modern stay enveloped in a beautiful Carolinian forest. The cabins at Chiefswood Park come complete with cooktops, pots and pans, cooking and dining utensils and dishes, microwaves, coffee pots, and kettles. All linens and bathroom supplies are also provided.
If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, consider our glamping units! We offer 12 off-grid units, which come equipped with a folding bistro table and two chairs, and a Murphy bed with a full mattress that sleeps two comfortably.
Set up camp under the trees with a stunning view of the Grand River. In addition, our serviced RV and trailer sites along the Park Grounds offer access to electricity and water hookups. Each site comes with a fire pit and picnic table, as well as access to washroom and shower facilities.
If a quiet stay among the trees or along the Grand River by yourself, with a partner, or with friends or family speaks to you, then this is the place to experience it!
